      • Only copper containing blood is blue, like the blood in horseshoe crabs. Iron containing blood like the one in most animals is a dark shade of read
        The blue blood refers to nobillity, it originate from times when getting coloured skin meant you were a labourer.
        So the nobles kept to the insides and even made their skin whiter, with lead based make up. The ateries that are visible trough really light skin appear to be blue, hence the blue blood.
